Where to cool off in Antwerp on a hot summer day.
'De scheldekaaien' is the perfect place to feel the city vibes on a hot summer night. If you dare, just hang your feet over the 'blauwe steen' and watch the sunset. Best places are droogdokkenpark aka 'de scheldebocht' in the North or the renewed quay on the South.
Take a walk in the many parks that surrounds Studio Penelope. Go old fashion in Nachtegalenpark or Park den Brandt. Bring your cane picnic bag with a blanket and watch the cricket players on the weekends. Or if you're in a more romantic mood you can sit under a big tree in the park of Kasteel den Brandt . In the open-air museum of Park Middelheim you can get your portion of art and look for your favourite statue.
Get on the waterbus and feel the breeze while discovering the harbour skyline. Hop off in the old town of Lillo, a very small polder village cramped between the big harbour companies.
Take a refreshing dive in the ecological public swimming pound of Bouckenberg park.
Hide from the heat in the grade listed and most beautiful art deco pedestrian tunnel that connects the right bank with the left bank under the river Schelde. Once you're on the left bank you can enjoy the beautiful skyline of Antwerp or what we call ' de reede van Antwerpen'
